I have been anticipating this film for a pretty long time now, and this weekend I have made it a priority to go see…who will be joining me?

This past weekend I had the opportunity to use my friend’s Canon EOS Rebel T1i that he had been hyping up for months. After spending 2 days with the camera, I definitely understood where all of his excitement was coming from; I literally had the best experience snapping photos all weekend! Here are a few test shots I took of the new heardemsay™ buttons which will be available really soon…I promise! Looking forward to seeing more pictures this week!

Greetings everyone…hope you all had a great weekend!!! As for us, we spent our weekend preparing for yesterday’s (Sunday) sample sale at the Rose Bowl Flea Market. Since it was our first experience in a marketplace- the pressure of making a good first impression was at an all-time high; from waking up at 4:30 in the morning, to setting up the “perfect” booth, to even worrying about peoples reaction to the brand was the recipe to a nervous breakdown (that I didn’t have)! Although, we didn’t have any expectations of sales for our merchandise, we simply just wanted to introduce heardemsay™ and connect with the people!
We accomplished our goal; surprisingly enough, so many people responded well to the company, and supported our product! Which is why we have decided to participate in more…our next stop may be the Silverlake Flea Market! The humble hustle continues…

Last night I watched Dave Chappelle’s Block Party and I almost forgot how much I really LOVE that movie. It was the most refreshing feeling to relive the moment when I first saw the movie in the theater (2005) and how inspired I was when I left; just seeing the commodore amongst my favorite artists and how they shared the common goal of making #goodmusic was inspiration within itself. Since the majority of the setting (the movie) takes place in Brooklyn I figured I’d use this post to share my experience in Brooklyn while I was on my New York vacation. Prior to my visit, my knowledge of Brooklyn did not exceed The Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z (both of their birth places) and once again I was unaware of the rich culture the city comprised; Brooklyn offered so much more than what is generally portrayed in the media (Marcy Projects, etc.) and I am glad to be able to share another side.
First stop was The Brooklyn Circus where I felt right at home; the BKc family was extremely inviting and they also showed heardemsay™ love!
Founder, Ouigi Theodore applies heardemsay™ buttons to store entrance display.
Second stop was Mile End Delicatessen for lunch where I got the “smoked meat” sandwich with frites!
And the third and final stop was The Brooklyn Museum where I visited the Andy Warhol: The Last Decade exhibit. It was really interesting to know that during this time (the last decade of his life) Warhol produced more works, in a considerable number of series and on a vastly larger scale, than at any other point in his forty-year career. Now that’s what I call dedication!
All in all, Brooklyn became my ideal home away from home!
*whew* Today was one hot summer day in Los Angeles but it was nothing compared to the humidity I just experienced this past week in New York; for 5 whole days, Traci Alexis (Bespoked Stanzas) and I trekked through the “concrete jungle where dreams are made of” on a business vacation that neither one of us wanted to come to an end. By this being my first official time visiting New York (a couple years ago I went to NJ and ended up in NY by accident…long-story short, I was only in NY long enough to get on the correct train), I was extremely excited about the trip. Just as I did when I visited Chicago, I created a To-Do list of things I wanted to do and places I wanted to see, and once again…everything was checked off the list. The next few posts will be dedicated to my trip in New York, where I will be sharing some of the places I visited, some of the purchases I made, and some of the great creative people I met. Please stay tuned as we are getting closer to the first official launch!

Yesterday while in route to work the dreading 9 to 5, I had the biggest urge for a chili dog, a REAL chili dog Pink’s Hot Dog’s and I literally turned all the way back around just to stop at Earlez Grille on Crenshaw and Rodeo. REAL LA Hollywood folk can relate!
Might I say, lunch was the most deliteful part of my day- my spicy beef link (x2) served with chili and cheese on a wheat bun and cold Arizona Ice Tea definitely satisfied my guilty pleasures! If you haven’t made it down to Earlez Grille do yourself a favor…LA stand up!
I have a confession to make, I can be very indecisive at times- especially when it comes to traveling…I rarely always have a plan when I arrive at a travel destination simply because I am not a tourist type of guy. However this Chicago trip brought the inner tourist out of me!!! I actually created a To-Do list: visit the Saint Alfred store, the RSVP Gallery, the Michael Jordan Statue at the United Center, and eat pizza at Giordano’s. Guess what…everything on the list was checked off!
Within my four years of attending college I have never anticipated Spring break vacation like I did this year. For some reason this year has been extremely overwhelming (in a good way), and a vacation was much needed; my place of destination was Chicago, Illinois. Prior to my trip, my only knowledge of Chicago was that it is extremely COLD, it is where Michael Jordan played, and that it is the birthplace of some of my favorite musicians: Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, and Common. As soon as I arrived, instantly I realized that it was so much more than just a “Windy City”- Chicago is filled with culture. This week I will be sharing my trip to Chicago.
